Fine Portraiture
After years of study of the head and figure, Ms. Whitehouse is accepting commissions for portrait work. Ideally, she paints from life alone for a completed work. This often takes up to ten three-hour sittings, sometimes more. Some work can be done with the aid of photographs, thereby requiring fewer sittings to work on color studies and final details. If necessary, a painting can be completed from photographs alone.
Capturing a likeness is not only producing a facsimile. The painting should represent the sitter in a myriad of ways: coloring, gesture, attitude, etc. This is best captured by several living sittings and interviews. Arrangements can be flexible as well as locations. Prices range from $2800 for head studies to $8-$10,000 for 3/4 views.

Marine Art
As a member of the American Society of Marine Artists, Ms. Whitehouse will be exhibiting nationally. She specializes in local scenes and boat-related activities along the New England coast. These include the annual Cape Porpoise Model Schooner Races and the building and restoring of classis wooden boats by various local boatyards. She is presently accepting commissions for paintings of your boat at rest or at sea (via video tapes). Prices range from $4000 for 24" x 30" oils +/- for other arrangements. Giclee prints are available.
